Making a difference to our communities
Our stores and team members are at the heart of diverse, unique communities all around the world. We roll up our sleeves and get stuck into supporting local causes, working hard to drive change for the better. This gives us the opportunity to make a real differences to the communities that we are part of.
UK Community Programme
Our nationwide Community Programme enables our teams to support the communities we serve and make the most of our space in stores. Our activities focus on social themes that our customers tell us they care about such as loneliness and food waste, and we also encourage our teams to plan their own activities to meet the needs of their local communities.
Every store has a Community Noticeboard where customers and members of the public can put up local news and information about activities that are happening. We love bringing people together to strengthen the communities we are part of.

The Costa Coffee Community Grant
Established to celebrate our 50th birthday in 2021, our Community Grants Programme gives our team members the chance to nominate charities and groups in their areas that are making a difference. We then distribute direct grants to worthy organisations across the country each year.
Chatty Café
The Chatty Café scheme aims to tackle loneliness by encouraging people to meet others in the community and start conversations in our stores. Participating stores designate "Chatter and Natter” tables at specific times each week where people are invited to sit and chat with someone new. Local communities have embraced this initiative, turning tables into hubs for various activities and clubs.
It’s all about creating a friendly, welcoming space where people can connect, share a coffee, and feel part of their community.
