These Terms and Conditions apply to Costa Gift Cards and govern the relationship between Costa Limited ("we" or "us") and you or the person to whom you give the Costa Gift Card (“you”). Use of your Costa Gift Card will constitute acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. These Terms and Conditions override any statements on your Costa Gift Card if they are different. You must therefore read them carefully. If there is anything you do not understand, please contact Customer Services.

Purchasing your Costa Gift card

Costa Gift Cards can be purchased at any participating Costa outlet in England, Scotland or Wales or online at  www.costacoffeeforbusiness.co.uk. The minimum amount required to activate a card is £5. The maximum amount that may be on a Costa Gift Card is £75. Your Costa Gift Card is issued by, and remains the property of, Costa Limited, Costa House, 6 Porz Avenue, Houghton Hall Business Park, Houghton Regis, Dunstable, Beds, LU5 5YG.

Using your Costa Gift Card

You may redeem your Costa Gift Card at any participating Costa outlet in England, Scotland or Wales. When you use your Costa Gift Card the amount of your purchase will be deducted from the balance on the card. The remaining balance may be applied to future purchases. Change will not be given. You may check the balance on your Costa Gift Card at any participating Costa outlet. You may not top up the balance on your Costa Gift Card however you may transfer any outstanding balance to a new card at any participating Costa outlet. Your Costa Gift Card is not a credit card, charge card or debit card. You may not exchange your Costa Gift Card for cash. Refunds will not be given for the purchase of a Costa Gift Card. We reserve the right to refuse to accept damaged cards or cards which we believe may have been stolen or obtained in another illegal way.

Expiration and Cancellation

Your Costa Gift Card and the balance on it will expire if the card is not used for 12 consecutive months. We reserve the right to cancel your Costa Gift Card if we suspect it is being used fraudulently or in breach of these Terms and Conditions.

Loss, Theft, Damage

You should take care of your Costa Gift Card and treat it like cash. Costa is not responsible for lost or stolen cards. You should immediately report any loss, theft, fraudulent or unauthorised use of your Costa Gift Card to Customer Services. If you lose your Costa Gift Card or it is stolen, damaged or malfunctions, we may, at our sole discretion, replace your Costa Gift Card and transfer the balance stored on it to a replacement card. Circumstances in which we may determine not to replace your Costa Gift Card include where we reasonably believe that the notified incident has been caused by your breach of these Terms and Conditions or where there are reasonable grounds for suspecting that you are or have been engaged in fraudulent or other unlawful conduct. If you have not registered your Costa Gift Card we will require your Costa Gift Card number and proof of purchase before we can consider, in our sole discretion, any request to replace your Costa Gift Card. If we agree to replace your Costa Gift Card, a replacement card will be delivered to your home address, usually within 5 days of you first notifying Customer Services of the incident. We reserve the right to charge a replacement card fee for each replacement card in the event that you are issued with more than two replacement cards within any 6 month period. If you subsequently find or retrieve a Costa Gift Card which you have reported lost or stolen, you must notify Customer Services immediately.

Costa Coffee Club

Purchases made with Costa Gift Cards in participating Costa outlets will be eligible to earn Costa Coffee Club points. Please ensure your Costa Coffee Club card is swiped in the usual way when you make your purchase. You cannot use Costa Coffee Club points to purchase Costa Gift Cards. You cannot earn Costa Coffee Card points when you purchase a Costa Gift Card. For further details please refer to the Costa Coffee Club Terms and Conditions.

Resale/Use in Promotions

You may not sell your Costa Gift Card. Costa Gift cards may not be used in sales or promotional activities including as give aways or prizes in competitions without the prior consent of Costa. Costa reserves the right to cancel any Costa Gift Card that it suspects has been resold or obtained in connection with an unauthorised sales or promotional activity.

Liability of Costa Limited

Costa Limited shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from or in connection with your use of a Costa Gift Card where such loss or damage arises from any cause beyond our reasonable control. Where any loss or damage arises from a cause within our control, our liability to you shall not exceed a sum equal to the balance on your card as at the date that such loss or damage occurs. This clause shall not exclude or limit any liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

Variation

We reserve the right to amend or waive any provision of these Terms and Conditions from time to time or to terminate the Costa Gift Card service on reasonable notice. The Terms and Conditions applicable to the use of a Costa Gift Card shall at any time be the terms and conditions published on the Costa Gift Card website and your continued use of a Costa Gift Card shall constitute your acceptance of such terms and conditions.

Assignment

We may transfer the benefit of these Terms and Conditions to any other company in the same group of companies as Costa Limited. If we assign the benefit of these Terms and Conditions, your rights will not be affected.

Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by English law.

1. Who can enter:

  • 1.1 The promotion is open to residents of England, Scotland and Wales who are aged 18 or over when they enter the promotion, excluding employees of Whitbread and its subcontractors, subsidiaries and anyone professionally connected with the promotion and their immediate families.

2. How to enter:

  • 2.1 There is no purchase necessary to enter the promotion. To enter the promotion you must provide feedback on your store visit by visiting feedbacktocosta.co.uk and following the instructions. Once your feedback has been received (including your contact details, where requested) you will automatically be entered into the promotion.

  • 2.2 Your data will be used only by Costa for the purposes of administering the promotion and by Clarabridge for the collection of feedback responses.

  • 2.3 Text messages will be charged at your standard network rate and your mobile number will not be disclosed to any third parties for marketing purposes.

  • 2.4 Only one entry per person per month is allowed; multiple entries from individuals will not be permitted.

  • 2.5 The promotional period will run from 00:00 on 04 January 2019 until 23:59 on 2 January 2020

3. Selection and prize details:

  • 3.1 On or before the first Friday of each month following the month in respect of which entries are received, a winner will be drawn at random by computer for the preceding month. Each winner will be notified that they have won by email within two weeks of the relevant draw. There will be two winners every month.

  • 3.2 Each winner will a £50 amazon voucher.

  • 3.3 There is no cash or other alternative prize available, except that in the event of circumstances outside of its control the promoter reserves the right to provide a similar alternative prize of equal or greater value. If a winner cannot be contacted within four weeks after the promoter first tries to contact them in accordance with paragraph 3.1, the promoter reserves the right to withdraw that winner's prize and award that prize to an alternative winner drawn at random by computer from the participants who participated in the relevant draw.

4. Other terms:

  • 4.1 The promoter cannot accept responsibility for any difficulties in entering or any entries that are not included in the draw for any reason whatsoever.

1. INTRODUCTION

 

1.1. By entering the prize draw (the "Promotion"), all participants will be deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions in full. All entry instructions form part of these terms and conditions.

 

1.2. The Promotion is open to Costa Coffee Club members who are residents of the UK (excluding Northern Ireland) aged 18 or over at the date on which they enter the Promotion, except for employees of the promoter, its group companies, agents or anyone professionally connected with this Promotion and any member of their respective immediate families.

 

1.3. Entry to the Promotion opens at 00:01am on Tuesday 12 November 2019 and closes at 23:59pm on Tuesday 31 December 2019 (the "Promotion Period"). Entries received after the Promotion Period will not be eligible to win a prize.

 

2. ENTRY TO THE PROMOTION

 

To enter the Promotion first make a minimum purchase of £1 during the Promotion Period: (a) using Costa Collect; or (b) at a participating Costa Coffee store or Costa Express machine in the UK (excluding Northern Ireland) and scan your Costa Coffee App. Then tap on the Santa's surprise icon that will appear in your Costa Coffee App within 48 hours of the time of the qualifying purchase. 3. THE PRIZES

 

3.1. The following prizes are available to be won each day during the Promotion Period. You will be notified immediately in your Costa Coffee App if you have won one of the following prizes when you tap the Santa's surprise icon:

  • At least 10 x 100,375 Costa Coffee points

  • At least 600 x 500 Costa Coffee points

  • At least 39,400 x 300 Costa Coffee points

  • At least 60,000 x 100 Costa Coffee points

  • At least 80,000 x 50 Costa Coffee points

3.2. There will be a weekly prize draw each week during the Promotion Period, all qualifying entries made during the Promotion Period will be entered into a prize draw for a different prize depending on the date of the entry, as set out in the below paragraph 3.3. Prize draws for each week will take place on Sunday at 23:59pm.

3.4. In addition to the prizes set out in paragraphs 3.1, 3.2 and 3.3, all entries received during the Promotion Period will be entered into a prize draw to win the Ice Hotel Experience for 2 adults. This prize includes:

  • Return economy flights for 2 adults from the UK to Kiruna, Sweden, including one piece of checked baggage per 2 adults. The departure airport will be the winner's nearest UK international airport that operates direct flights to Kiruna;

  • Private dog sled transfer from Kiruna Airport to the ICEHOTEL;

  • 3 nights' accommodation in the 3* ICEHOTEL, which includes 2 nights in a Kaamos warm room, 1 night in a cold room suite, morning sauna for 2 people after cold room suite stay, and a thermal one-piece suit, hat, boots and mittens to use while staying at the ICEHOTEL;

  • Breakfast for 2 people in the ICEHOTEL restaurant each morning. All other meals will be at the winner's own expense;

  • Meet the reindeer experience for 2 people, which includes return transfers from and to the ICEHOTEL, Sámi guide, meet and feed the reindeer, drive a reindeer sled around a 200m track, and coffee and suovas in a traditional Sámi tent;

  • Private transfer from the ICEHOTEL to Kiruna airport;

  • Funds to pay tourism tax; and

  • Travel insurance, which is subject to normal terms of acceptance and full and accurate disclosure of all relevant medical information by those taking part in the trip. Pre-existing conditions may not be covered and, in such event, the affected person(s) must obtain separate travel insurance at their own cost. The promoter will have no liability in the event that any false or inaccurate information is provided by or on behalf of any person taking part in the trip.

 

Please note: You are responsible for ensuring that you and your guests have all necessary passports and/or other documents required to travel. Non-UK passport holders may need a visa for this destination, which they should arrange with the Embassy at their own expense. Flights include all taxes and surcharges plus one piece of checked luggage per 2 adults. Accommodation is on a double room, bed-and-breakfast basis (twin rooms can be requested but are not guaranteed).

 

3.5. The winner of the Ice Hotel Experience will be selected from all eligible entries by 2 January 2020, and then notified within 7 days of the draw by phone and/or email with details of how to claim their prize.

 

3.6. All prize draws carried out in relation to the Promotion will be carried out at random by computer.

 

4. CONDITIONS

 

4.1. You must be using the latest version of the Costa App (not the Wallet App) in order to enter the Promotion.

 

4.2. In the event that the promoter is unable to contact a winner within 3 working days of the relevant draw, the promoter reserves the right to award the prize to an alternative winner selected at random by computer from all remaining eligible entries.

 

4.3. For prizes set out in paragraph 3.3 and 3.4, the promoter will send an email to the winner within 7 days of the relevant draw notifying them of their prize. Within 7 days of receipt of the email from the promoter notifying them of their prize, winners must then ensure that the address details linked to their Costa Coffee Club account on the website (www.costa.co.uk/coffee-club/login) are correct. If address details have not been entered within 7 days of receipt of the email, the promoter reserves the right to award the prize to an alternative winner selected at random by computer from all remaining eligible entries.

 

4.4. All bonus Costa Coffee points will be added to the relevant account within 48 hours of the qualifying entry to the Promotion.

 

4.5. Prizes to be delivered will be delivered within 28 working days from a valid acceptance of the prize.

 

4.6. No cash alternative. Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be resold. The promoter reserves the right to substitute an alternative prize of equal or greater value. Unless otherwise agreed in writing by the promoter, the prize will only be awarded to the winner.

 

4.7. The promoter may require each winner to take part in reasonable publicity in respect of the Promotion. The promoter may publish each winner's name, photograph and county on its website, Facebook page or Twitter account.

 

4.8. No entries from agents, third parties, syndicated entries or those made using methods such as a computer macro, script or the use of automated devices are permitted and no bulk entries.

 

4.9. All costs and expenses not included within the prizes are the responsibility of the winner(s).

 

4.10. The promoter reserves the right at any time, in its absolute discretion, to:

  • 4.10.1. verify the eligibility of any entrant;

  • 4.10.2. disqualify any entrant found to be abusing or tampering with the operation of the Promotion or entering using fraudulent means, or who the promoter believes to have acted in breach of these terms and conditions; and

  • 4.10.3. disqualify participants who do not give correct contact details or those who make an entry on someone else's behalf.

 

4.11. Flights are subject to availability at the time of booking, at the discretion of the promoter, and exclude 16 December 2019 - 6 January 2020, 14 - 16 February 2020, 10 - 13 April 2020 and all other Bank Holidays in both the UK and Sweden. The Ice Hotel Experience trip must be booked by the winner by 31 December 2020.

 

4.12. Subject to availability, the departure airport will be the winner's nearest international airport that operates direct flights to Kiruna. Please note this may not be your closest airport.

 

4.13. Accommodation at the ICEHOTEL is based on two adults sharing a twin room with an en-suite bathroom on a bed and breakfast basis. A double room may be possible on request but cannot be guaranteed.

 

4.14. The meet the reindeer experience will last approximately 3 hours. Please note the experience is only available between November and March. The winner must be able to travel during these dates to use the reindeer experience. If the winner does not travel during these dates an alternative activity will be offered instead.

 

4.15. All outdoor activities are weather dependent and subject to cancellation.

 

5. LIABILITY

 

5.1. If the promoter fails to comply with these terms and conditions, the promoter is responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of the promoter's breach of these terms and conditions or its negligence, but it is not responsible for any loss or damage that is not foreseeable. Loss or damage is foreseeable if they were an obvious consequence of the promoter's breach or if they were contemplated by you and the promoter at the time that you entered the Promotion.

 

5.2. Except as otherwise required by applicable law, the promoter accepts no responsibility or liability for any entry or claim which for technical or other reasons is unsuccessful, incomplete, lost, late, damaged, corrupted or misdirected.

 

6. GENERAL

All personal data submitted in connection with the Promotion will be processed by the promoter for the purposes of administering and managing the Promotion and prizes (where applicable) and verifying the eligibility of each participant. 1. INTRODUCTION

1.1 This Prize Draw is open to all holders of a Shell Go+ card who are GB residents aged 18 or over at the date on which they enter the Prize Draw, except for employees of Shell U.K. Oil Products Ltd (the 'Promoter'), Costa Express Limited (the provider of the prizes), their group companies, agents or anyone professionally connected with the Prize Draw and any member of their respective families.

2. HOW TO ENTER THE PRIZE DRAW

2.1 To enter the Prize Draw, buy any Costa Express drink from a Shell garage in Great Britain between 1 and 31 December 2019 (inclusive) and make sure you scan your Shell Go+ card. There is no limit on the number of entries.

3. WINNERS

3.1 5 winners will be selected by the Promoter at random by computer from all eligible entries by 1st February 2020.

3.2 The winners will be notified before 29th February 2020 by the Promoter using the contact details held by the Promoter and will be provided with details of how to claim their prize.

4. PRIZES

4.1 There are 5 prizes available to be won each consisting of a private tour of the Costa Roastery in Basildon for the winner and a guest aged over 18 in the company of a Costa coffee expert.

5. CONDITIONS

5.1 In the event that the Promoter is unable to contact a winner by 29th February 2020, the Promoter reserves the right to award the prize to an alternative winner selected at random.

5.2 Successful applicants will be responsible for making their own travel arrangements to the Costa roastery at their own cost and will be required to bring photographic proof of identity with them. All costs and expenses not included within the prizes are the responsibility of the winners.

5.3 There is no cash alternative. Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be resold. The Promoter reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value if the advertised prizes are not available for reasons beyond the Promoter's control.

If the Promoter fails to comply with these terms and conditions, the Promoter is responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of the Promoter's breach of these terms and conditions or its negligence, but it is not responsible for any loss or damage that is not foreseeable. Loss or damage is foreseeable if they were an obvious consequence of the Promoter's breach or if they were contemplated by you and the Promoter at the time that you entered the Prize Draw.
