Make your own Costa stem ginger biscuits
Turn up the heat on your coffee-break with our stem ginger biscuit recipe. Our easy to follow steps make a delicious batch of crunchy biscuits just like the ones you find in our stores.
Ingredients you’ll need
125g margarine or butter
125g granulated sugar
1tsp ground ginger
100g Porridge Oats
125g self raising flour
40g stem ginger (finely chopped)
Ready to start baking?
Step 1: Pre-heat the oven to 190C°/170C° Fan Forced/Gas 5.
Step 2: Mix the butter (or margarine with the sugar (or ‘cream’ together for all you bakers out there).
Step 3: Combine the flour, porridge oats and ground ginger together and mix well with the margarine/butter until the ingredients combine to a smooth paste. Finally, add the finely chopped stem ginger and give it all another good mix.
Step 4: Using a small ice cream scoop or a large heaped tablespoon, divide the dough into 18-20 round shaped balls on 2 lined baking trays. Ensure you leave enough space between for the dough to spread out.
Step 5: Pop in the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until a rich golden-brown.
Step 6: Take out of the oven and cool.
