100g (4oz) unsalted butter
- 100g (4oz) soft Light brown sugar
- 2 x 397g can of condensed milk

For the topping:
-
200g (8oz) plain or milk chocolate

Ready? Let's get mixing

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 180°C/160°C fan and grease up a baking tray with a bit of butter.

Step 2: Rub flour, caster sugar and 175g of butter, until they’re breadcrumb-like. Knead into a big ball and then press firmly into the tray.

Step 3: Place in the oven for 20 minutes, and once firm, take it out and leave to one side.

Step 4: Caramel time! Stir 100g of butter, brown sugar and condensed milk in a pan until it’s bubbling, then reduce heat and simmer for 5-10 minutes.

Step 5: Be careful on this next bit! Pour your caramel over the shortbread and allow to cool.

Step 6: Melt your chocolate on a low heat. Gently does it! Then drizzle onto your masterpiece and leave to set.

Final step: Cut into gold bars and enjoy with your favourite coffee from our At Home range for an authentic Costa Coffee experience.
