Project status: Current
In December 2007, we completed our first ever project at Anatoli Primary School, so we're pleased to be back in Cundinamarca helping another community.
This development started in November 2008 and is on course to be completed by the end of 2009, benefitting 228 children and 13 teachers.
The previous school buildings were so badly damaged by earthquake that most of the structures have been demolished to make way for the new "seismically approved" facilities.
One of the first challenges was to ensure clean water and safe electricity supplies, but eventually the school at La Esperanza will have seven new classrooms, 4 laboratories, a cafeteria, a library and a new playground.
We will work with our partners to implement a child nutrition programme and also an Intel Casebook project, helping them grow in two very different but very important ways.
