Education continues to be the key focus of the Foundation. In 2009/10 we are building, improving and maintaining schools within five coffee-growing communities in Colombia, Costa Rica, Ethiopia, Guatemala and Uganda. This is really making a big difference in regions where many of the children have no access to education, clean water, sanitation, transport or food for school meals.
In addition to the five projects currently underway, seven projects have now been completed and on our Colombia, Ethiopia, Guatemala and Uganda project pages you can view videos that show some of the results.
Working with the Charities Trust
The Costa Foundation is working with an independent charity partner, Charities Trust, and is operating under the auspices of Charities Trust's registered charity number 327489.
Charities Trust is wholly responsible for the administration of the Costa Foundation.
This allows the Costa Foundation trustees to concentrate on determining which projects to support and getting behind their people's fundraising efforts.
Charities Trust will also claim Gift-Aid and provide management reports detailing where monies have been raised and then allocated to projects.
